A bit about us:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment used in the coal mining industry, such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, haul trucks, and excavators. The mechanic will work to ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

The ideal Heavy Equipment Operator will have experience in either construction, quarry or mining.

All field operations are within 15 minutes of the corporate office.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and perform diagnostic tests on heavy equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs
• Repair and replace faulty parts, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including fluid changes, filter replacements, and lubrication
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and repair techniques
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in the coal mining industry
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment parts and tools
• Comfort working in various weather conditions and in tight spaces
• Willingness to work at heights and in noisy and dirty environments
