Heavy Equipment Foreman / Motor

A New Braunfels construction company specializing in commercial and residential developments is looking for a Heavy Equipment Supervisor to join their growing team.

This family-owned and operated business has spent the past 50 years building a reputation for quality workmanship, honesty, and their "do whatever it takes" approach to every project. Once going permanent with the company, you are eligible for annual evaluations and raises based on performance, health insurance, and 2 weeks of accumulated vacation days.

Responsibilities:

Responsible to safely operate while working around ground crews
Knowledge of fine grading operations without any machine controls. Knowledge of GPS/Robotic Machine controls and rough grading is beneficial
Operate blade cutting grade to within +/- 0.04' while monitoring equipment operation and identifying malfunctions
Will be responsible for machine cleanliness and minor routine maintenance of your assigned piece of equipment
Knowledge of GPS and Laser Controlled Grading System.
Performs finish grade work to blue tops or other close specification control
This work is subject to strict inspection and must conform closely to specifications
Responsible for grade excavation and embankment to lay base and other materials
Operator may blade haul roads and other general work
Removes old surfaces as well as spread and process materials to construct street/road surfaces to precise grade specifications
Moves levers and depresses pedals to maneuver equipment and raise, lower, and tilt attachment
Feels lever and listens for stalling action of engine to estimate depth of cut
Drives bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals
Responsible to construct/grade new roadways, base courses, building pads, footing excavation and water ponds and to properly slope and grade to specifications
Ability to maintain the initiative to maintain the flow of work under minimal supervision
Performs maintenance work to motor grader including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments to equipment
Inspects equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water
Responsible for general housekeeping, light maintenance of equipment, proper care of equipment, operating the equipment without damaging it along with maintenance checks of equipment including reporting usage/utilization hours on a daily basis
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Climbs on and off equipment
Works weekend, holiday, and/or overtime work as the project needs require
Performs Laborer work as required
Performs other duties and operates other equipment as assigned

Requirements:

Have a minimum of 3 years of finish blade / motor-blade operating experience
Have a minimum of 3 years of Heavy Equipment Operating Experience with multiple types of equipment including a Motor Grader, Skid Steer w/foot pedals, Excavator w/standard backhoe controls, Scraper, and Front Loader.
Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
Must be able to start asap
Fastens attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches
Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment
Frequent gross body movements such as bending, climbing into equipment, lifting, twisting, standing, balancing, stooping, handling materials, moving around hazardous sites
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Good Eye to Hand coordination a must
Flexible availability to include overtime and possible nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to work in a number of different project locations, often times daily
Must be able to supply your own transportation to and from the office(car). A work truck will be provided from the office to the jobsites and back.

Seldom Saturdays

Job Pay:

$20 - $28/Hour
