Summary You will serve as a HEALTH SYSTEM SPECIALIST of NMRTC GREAT LAKES IL. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense. Responsibilities You will assist the Patient Relations Department in answering congressional inquiries regarding any aspect of MEB operations within an allotted time. You will analyze, interpret, and apply new and established directives from the Department of the Navy. You will assist in solving complex cases as they arise with the goal of meeting all DoD and VA timelines. You will coordinate the processing of the Medical Evaluation Board Report (MEBR) of personnel assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilzing Department of Defense Instruction (DoD), Secretary of the Navy Instruction, DES policy, guidelines, processes and procedures to serve as technical authority for assigned programs. Experience using information technology to document progress, concerns, or other issues relevant to member's cases entering all mandatory data into the system of record. Experience generating standard and customized management reports and charts. Experience analyzing new and established directives from the Secretary of the Navy.
