Job Description: The Site HSE Specialist will join a team of HSE professionals responsible for the development, management, and execution of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental programs at the Gainesville site including the engagement of all associates to influence and drive a positive HSE culture. This position reports directly to the Site HSE Manager and will primarily focus on occupational safety. The ideal candidate will be energetic, eager to learn, teach/coach/assess others, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate initiative, be attentive to detail, and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills. The fundamental purpose of this position is to ensure company and regulatory compliance and drive the organization to zero losses as it pertains to HSE. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the development, deployment, and sustainability of all company HSE related programs. Serves as a member of the Gainesville Safety Pillar and collaborates with the essential element owners to build capabilities and drive continuous improvements. Collaborates with internal stakeholders during all phases of new equipment planning to ensure HSE related risks are identified and effectively reduced. Participates in the management of change process to reduce risks associated the modification of processes and equipment. Ensures site maintains continuous "audit ready" state of compliance with company and governmental HSE related standards. Manages Risk Management activities associated with asset conservation and property loss control. Drives timely corrective actions to management system, asset conservation, and technical safety audits and assessments. Steers the incident management program, investigates incidents, and supports root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions through the utilization of company accepted tools. Provides technical advice on regulations, ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulations and prepares regulatory reports and develop solutions to a variety of safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental issues. Maintains the OSHA Logs. Utilizes Enablon to support Mars Wrigley requirements and interfaces with Enablon to manage corrective actions. Collaborates with Occupational Health to ensure effective injury case management process is fully implemented, well understood, and functioning as desired. Supports site efforts to evaluate and reduce Industrial Hygiene risks by coordinating air sampling, noise monitoring, and ventilation assessments. Supports site efforts to reduce ergonomics stressors by interfacing with stakeholders to conduct ergonomics risk assessments. Serves as a liaison to the Gainesville Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). Actively lives by The Five Principles in conducting business and making decisions. Ability to work independently as well as within a team. Manages and uses a data driven approach to prioritize site HSE related activities. Leverages and disseminates data to increase transparency, influence, motivate, measure, and drive continuous improvement. Professionally communicates performance towards established HSE goals. Supports HSE colleagues in ensure team related activities are completed in a timely manner. Education & Professional Qualifications Bachelor's degree (or higher) is required. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an EHS field is preferred. Professional Certifications are preferred. What can you expect from Mars?
