Health Safety Environment Site Manager Princeton, NJ Onsite As the Health Safety and Environment Site Manager, you are responsible to provide HSE leadership, knowledge and guidance across all operational departments and teams of the site. You drive, maintain and improve operational HSE processes, initiatives, projects and campaigns, provide data based direction for improvement, while building capabilities and a learning culture together with the site leadership team. Equal access to opportunities is a given, belonging is a shared feeling, authenticity is celebrated Your key responsibilities Be a well-rounded HSE solution partner in protecting our people, the environment, and our assets to support sustainable business growth by building effective relationship, coaching, influencing and supporting stakeholders at all levels within the organization to strengthen HSE culture. Ensure the local HSE management system is effectively designed, implemented, and controlled and meets Firmenich standards, ISO standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the site operations and detailed processes and ensure key risks are well-understood and mitigated through the site Management System and action plans. Ensure a robust but efficient risk-based HSE audit program is in place. Co-own with relevant stakeholders the site HSE continuous improvement plan considering Firmenich HSE global Strategy, HSE global management Principles & Codes, Data, new business requirements, new/updated regulations and employees' input and by providing data analysis, trending, and recommendations and providing technical and administrative direction on HSE matters at the site. Facilitate and support line management through investigation of all injuries, illnesses and incidents, and ensure outputs are used to enhance the management system. Lead local internal audit programs, maintain and improve ISO 14k and 45k standards and ensure success in clients, authorities and certification audits. Industry certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHMM a plus. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies. Familiar with root cause and risk assessment methodologies Strong influential and communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to convey complex concepts in relatable terms across all levels of the organization. Working knowledge and understanding of HSE regulations and ISO management systems and principles including but not limited to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. Be adept at working under pressure and demonstrate the ability to confidently make decisions with incomplete or conflicting data applying sound judgment and good reasoning skills. High proficiency with standard office programs such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Ability to manipulate, analyze, and summarize data to provide key insights and develop strategic and tactical plans.
