Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Studies provides courses in several critical content areas. We currently serve the WSSU community through our Health Education offering. Additionally, we offer undergraduates the chance to earn their Bachelor of Science in the following areas: Motorsports Management, Physical Education, and Sport Management. Additional, Health, Physical Education and Sport Studies offers minors in coaching and sports medicine. All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution or certified as equivalent to required accredited education. Normal Work Schedule Ability to teach weekdays and/or evenings. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Required License or Certification Valid US Driver's License No Commercial Driver's License Required No Physical Required No List any other medical/drug tests required Primary Responsibilities and Duties Primary Responsibilities and Duties Describe the specific job duties related to this competency The adjunct faculty will prepare all course materials and lessons for general education health courses, major courses in Physical Education, physical activity courses, or major courses in Sport Management. Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, timelines, and approved syllabus. Provide engaging and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes. Will suitably challenge, engage, serve and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect. Complete grade books, mid-term and final grade submission, learning assessments and final exam assessments on a timely basis and respond to student questions on a timely basis. Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
