SUMMARY

Position directs quality assurance and quality service functions of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

  • Responsible for directing the Quality Assurance Department personnel, functions, and activities.
  • Fostering an environment of Continuous Improvement in the workplace across departmental lines throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all related IATF, ISO, and ISMS policies and procedures.
  • Maintenance of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) programs to ensure processes are fully deployed and people are trained in the process.
  • Responsible for setting and measuring the departmental goals that supports the business plan.
  • Coordinate, train and assist in audits and inspections of operational and supplier programs and processes.
  • Maintain and control the Quality Management Systems (QMS) for continued conformance to customer standards.
  • Improve plant capability utilizing statistical methods (QDAS, Minitab or equivalent tools).
  • Work with customers to develop improvement strategies for quality and cost.
  • Fulfill the role of Management Representative for the Quality Management Systems.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work activities as prescribed by the Plant Manager and Corporate Quality Manager to subordinates.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Engineering from four-year college or university and 3-5 years experience in manufacturing quality management
  • Preferred experience in the automotive industry
  • Experience with FMEA, APQP, PDP, Gantt Chart, QDAS / Minitab (SPC software), MS Project and project management skills
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Metallurgy and Materials Science experience is helpful
