Our client, a Personal Care and Cosmetic Manufacturer happily located in Southern California, is actively looking to add a Head of Quality to their team.

Salary: $140,000
Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site)
Type: Direct Hire
Shift: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to the CEO of the Company.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) that integrates all aspects of quality assurance, quality control, and compliance processes across the organization.
  • Lead the Quality and Compliance department, including setting objectives, budgeting, and staffing to effectively support the organization's goals and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international regulations and standards related to personal care products, including FDA, EPA, ISO, and others applicable to the industry.
  • Establish and maintain a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement, including the adoption of best practices and innovative quality assurance technologies.
  • Oversee the management of audits, both internal and external, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Work closely with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality and compliance considerations into product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations, staying ahead of changes in legislation and standards that could impact the company's products or processes.
  • Lead the response to quality or compliance issues, including product recalls, regulatory actions, and customer complaints, ensuring timely and transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance on quality and compliance matters to the executive team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the company.
  • Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, providing a technical support service to other departments as required including customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Own and host the site's Quality Management Review process: Design, compile, and analyze quality trends and issue QA & QC performance metrics reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance within the Cosmetics/OTC industry who can create and implement a quality strategy to support our ambitious growth plans whilst driving a successful project to get the OTC/FDA certification.
  • Proficient at managing diverse teams, and utilizing key experience in organizational leadership and quality strategy to drive growth and continuous improvement to meet company objectives through operational excellence.
  • Excellent knowledge of quality systems, GMPs, FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 22716 as well as international standards and guidelines.
  • Bachelor of Science degree required.
