Head of Global Brand and Social Strategy

Job ID: Services LLC

The Prime Video US team (PV US) leads our streaming business in the US (P&L responsibilities) as well as drives strategic planning in global original programming, operations, brand and social strategy worldwide. Their charter is to drive the growth of Prime Video's entertainment hub strategy, through content and brand/marketing investments and programming strategies in collaboration with internal (e.g., Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video International) and external stakeholders (e.g., Prime, Cross-Channel Marketing (XCM), Stores).

The PV US team is organized to drive clarity of accountability, defined roles and responsibilities, and clear focus between leaders with US P&L responsibilities and leaders responsible for global strategic planning. There are distinct General Management (GM) leaders: US Streaming (who leads GMs for the Hub and SVOD) and US Marketplace (who leads GMs for TVOD, Channels and FAST. The GMs are accountable for business KPIs and the corresponding financial results.

The PV US organization also includes several global functions responsible for developing and delivering on our strategies and 3-year plans for global programming (Global Programming), brand and social (Global Brand and Social Strategy), and operations (Global Operations). They own mechanisms that drive worldwide inputs from regional leaders (e.g., US, EMEA, LATCANZ, APAC, Studios) and use strategic frameworks, data, and infrastructure investments that enable each region to execute consistently and effectively at the local level.

We are seeking a Global Brand & Social Strategy leader. This team is responsible for defining our global brand strategy, building our brand social strategy and investment plans, manage brand governance, and offer brand insights. This will be the central team to report out on the progress for brand and social at a global level through QBRs and other mechanisms. With brand, this team works closely with XCM, Studios and PV Marketing teams to define our brand strategy at Prime Video - our positioning and communication strategy, in addition to our identity system. Through this strategic framework, the team provides guardrails on the expression of our brand, and ensures that all of PVS marketing activity globally is executed in a manner that aligns with our brands (Amazon and Prime). With social, this team is responsible for driving the vision of how Prime Video can have a best-in-class social marketing organization, setting the strategic plan to grow our social reach and capabilities (e.g., what handles to invest in, what capabilities needed) and oversee investments required (e.g., data infrastructure, tools, automation, people skills) that support social on a global basis. This team is not responsible for creative execution of social content or management of handles - this happens at the regional/local level as a lever to support those businesses. The leader understands the level of autonomy needed for regional marketing leaders, while also clearly defining specific areas that require global cohesion and standardization. We see this role as highly strategic, requiring a superpower in having influence through elevating a group's thinking and discussion, use of data/information to disprove assumptions, and trust-building collaboration.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify key investments required, advocate for and build into OP1/3YP.

• Define success criteria and key KPIs viewed both on a global and regional/local level, develop infrastructure to support measurement and reporting capabilities that continually serve as inputs into on-going, go-forward decisions.

• Define key brand and service insights research mechanisms to inform strategic plans and investments.

• Define and own mechanisms to review global brand and social progress, drive brand governance, sharing success story case studies, best practices and learnings across regions.

• Lead and develop a team in support of delivering on the vision which manages brand, social, governance and insights.
