Position Summary

As the Head of Business Development at Rocket Farms, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to grow a brighter future. You'll steer our organization toward its mission and growth objectives, drawing on your business development, relationships, sales, production planning, and operations expertise. Your strategic leadership will drive the development and execution of business development and sales strategies, fostering innovation and agility to optimize business outcomes and enhance customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do:


• Develop and execute strategic plans to advance the company's mission, promoting revenue, profitability, and sustainable growth.


• Drive growth and expansion across Rocket Farm's diverse product portfolio, ensuring consistent quality and innovation.


• Lead and inspire the sales teams to drive business growth and achieve ambitious sales goals, including overseeing our retail and wholesale center, and marketing teams.


• Direct the creation and implementation of innovative strategies across all Rocket Farms businesses.


• Foster a culture of innovation, empowerment, and agility to enhance speed-to-market and maintain competitiveness in the industry.


• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to develop customized value-added product lines and private label programs that resonate with customers.


• Cultivate strong and creative partner relationships with external agencies to support and amplify marketing initiatives.


• Establish and manage sales budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting tools to track progress and drive continuous improvement.


• Provide accurate sales forecasting and design incentive programs that inspire and motivate the sales team to exceed targets.


• Develop and coordinate comprehensive sales training programs to equip staff with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve sales objectives.


• Recruit, hire, and mentor high-performing sales professionals to drive team success.


• Conducts long-term and short-term goal setting for teams and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.


• Drives accountability amongst sales and marketing team.


• Gather and analyze data related to customers, prospects, and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.


• Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity to stay abreast of industry trends and provide valuable insights to the management team.


• Cultivate and manage key customer relationships, actively supporting the closing of strategic opportunities to drive business success.


• Collaborate with the CFO and finance team to develop annual budgets, provide monthly forecasting, and analyze capital expenditure investments for increased efficiency.

Requirements:

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)


• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.


• Minimum of 7 years of progressive sales management experience in the Floral, Produce, or CPG industry.


• 5 years of experience managing a professional staff across various functions such as Operations and Sales.


• Demonstrated track record of growing sales revenues consistently over multiple years.


• Proven success in introducing and selling new products in the marketplace.


• Deep understanding of the grocery, mass-market, and/or home channel.


• Willingness to travel extensively as needed.


• Experience in product management and market development is advantageous.


• Proficiency in deploying and managing ERP/CRM technologies.


• Creative mindset with the ability to challenge conventional thinking and drive innovation.


The expected salary range for this role is $215,000 - $275,000. This is the salary we reasonably expect to pay we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Final compensation offered will be based on including but not limited to experience, relevant education, qualifications, skills, organizational needs, and performance.
