Hazmat Specialist Job Category: Facilities Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: None Must be able to obtain Secret-level clearance from the DoD. Applicants with active clearance preferred. What You'll Get to Do : CACI is seeking a Hazardous Material (Hazmat) Specialist to support the environmental infrastructure group at the US Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD). The ideal candidate is able to quickly and thoroughly learn processes and regulations, advise on hazardous material management using their knowledge and experience, and operate both independently and collaboratively. This position is in Bethesda, MD and is 100% on-site with option to telework. More About the Role : Develop, implement, and maintain hazardous materials management programs and procedures. Conduct regular inspections of facilities, storage areas, and transportation vehicles to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct audits and investigations to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to hazardous materials inspections, inventory, consumption, and disposal. Coordinate with government customer to manage hazardous material inventory and procedures. You'll Bring These Qualifications : High school diploma required. Knowledge of federal regulations related to the handling and transport of hazardous materials (e.g. OSHA, DOT, EPA). 2 years of experience with hazardous material / environmental regulations. Ability to learn new processes and regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong collaboration skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have : Experience with hazardous materials inspections. Experience with inventory management. Certifications with hazardous materials (e.g. Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Dangerous Goods Professional (CDGP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST . Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hazardous Materials Management or related field. US Navy experience. Secret-level security clearance.
