Hazmat Material Inspector The Ascendancy Group's Mission

This contract provides general warehousing services to include the maintenance and repair of containers, biomedical equipment, and civil engineering equipment (CEE); the production of Deployable Medical Systems (DEPMEDS) at The Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command (NEMSCOM), Cheatham Annex (CAX), Williamsburg, Virginia. Security Requirement:
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET security clearance is required. Roles and Responsibilities:
• Oversee packaging, marking, labeling, and preparing documentation for all shipments per MIL-STD-129N (and all references contained therein) and the provisions of 49 CFR for hazardous materials according to the transport mode.
• Ensure segregation of hazardous materials per 49 CFR and 29 CFR regulations.
• Prepare the "Shippers Certification for Hazardous Material" for hazardous materials stuffed into containers for export shipment as required.
• Facilitate the receipt, handling, storage, and transportation of material designated as hazardous as required and shall comply with local, state, and Federal regulations. Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and 5 years of experience in HAZMAT-related work environments.
• Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Ability to independently implement quality control procedures.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret statistical data.
• Must be able to provide technical supervision, leadership, and training to other inspectors.
• Must be able to identify potential problems and derive recommended solutions from past experiences.
• Must be comfortable using a computer (including Microsoft Office software) and other specialized equipment.
• Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and to acquire a CAC Card
