Hardware Technician (Levels II & III Support)
Fort Meade, MD Salary: Negotiable from $80,000 to $130,000 depending on experience level Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Hardware Technician to provide both Tier 2 and Tier 3 support,
including on-site and remote assistance for computer workstations, servers, printers,
peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. This role involves conducting site surveys to
evaluate and document the current setup and user needs, preparing specifications for hardware
procurement based on analyzed requirements, and devising engineering plans along with
Technical Design Packages for site installations. Key responsibilities include scheduling and
documenting hardware installations, configuring computing and communication devices, training
users, and creating specialized cables. Qualifications: TS/SCI Full-Scope Polygraph Mandatory unexpired DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ preferred). High School diploma or GED. Additional qualification in a technical discipline (A.A. or B.S.) may substitute for experience. 1-2 years of relevant experience in hardware support. Skills Required: Advanced proficiency in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals. Proficient in installing operating systems, software, applications, antivirus, and patches. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately. Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Effective time management and prioritization skills. Autonomous work ethic with minimal oversight. Competence in remote end-user support. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and 10. Understanding of Active Directory security and policies. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills for team and client interactions. Capability to operate a company vehicle and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work 8-hour shifts between 6 am and 6 pm, as scheduled by management.
