REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Must hold proper state license Knowledge of working with G/T students Experience in Gifted and Talented Education Specific Training/Skills: Proficient in the use of computer technology Excellent written and oral presentation skills Essential Job Functions: Individual must be creative and dedicated leader who champions the unique needs of GT learners, K-12. Be able to design and implement engaging programs that challenge students' intellectual curiosity, cultivate social-emotional well-being, and empower them to become future leaders. Demonstrate a deep understanding of GT identification, program models, and best practices aligned with Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) standards. Be able to design and implement innovative, research-based programs tailored to different learning styles and interests, ensuring all GT students experience enriching opportunities. Partner effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community stakeholders to create a seamless and supportive GT experience. Embrace data and reflection: Analyze student data, program effectiveness, and feedback to refine and improve GT offerings continuously. Be an advocate for GT education, securing resources, raising awareness, and promoting equity and inclusion within the program. Continuously seek professional development opportunities and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in GT education. Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive K-12 GT program aligned with ADE standards and Searcy School District's specific needs. Facilitate professional development for teachers and administrators on effective GT strategies and differentiation. Provide direct instructional support to GT students in areas beyond the regular curriculum. Manage program budgets and resources effectively. Manage GT identification processes, ensuring accurate and equitable identification of all eligible students. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress including G/T screening. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs. Assist with the development an annual district professional development plan designed specifically to meet the learning needs of G/T staff, classroom teachers and administrators20. Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. Responsible for other duties as assigned. Perform teaching duties as needed throughout the district.
