Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Ground Test Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization on the STRIKE Flight Test Operations (FTO) team. This leadership role is located in EAFB, CA. This selected candidate will lead and provide functional management for a team of 15-20 system test engineers & test conductors. The ground test engineering manager will serve as the link between the Flight Test Maintenance Engineering team and the Flight Test Operations team. The selected candidate will possess an extensive aviation test engineering background with strong technical and leadership skills. This position requires strong communication skills to support extensive executive-level interaction. The Ground Test Engineering Manager will collaborate with government and contractor leaders to develop detailed test plans and drive an integrated team approach to problem solving. A thorough understanding of flight test safety planning, test operations, and test reporting is required. This leader will be responsible for developing resource forecasts and achieving cost and schedule performance goals for their team. Candidate must be willing to work extended shifts and odd hours to support flight test execution objectives. The Selected Candidate must be willing to work any shift depending on the business needs: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule Fri, Sat, Sun) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1st shift. Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, OR a Masters degree in a STEM Discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering OR 5 years with a PhD
Must have experience in a system test environment.
Must have previous leadership/management experience.
Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled (continuous evaluation).
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needsPreferred Qualifications:
Significant experience in a developmental/operational test maintenance environment
Experience in a US Air Force Combined Test Force (CTF)
Experience leading an aircraft operation under DCMA Instruction 8210 oversight
Strong ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions Salary Range: $138,100 - $207,100 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
