Description Job Location: White Sands Missile Range, NM (Orogrande, NM) Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. We are highly focused and, among other efforts, currently operate a dozen active test and/or training ranges for the Army, Air Force and Navy. We currently provide technical support in the Continental United States (CONUS) and occasionally Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS) with services to deploy, operate, maintain, and redeploy relevant threat signal simulators, including unique injection jamming devices, virtual training, virtual infrastructure, and foreign commercial cell phone systems in a Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Electronic Warfare (EW) environment in support of DoD and are currently looking to hire a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic (GSEM) for our work site at White Sands Missile Range near Orogrande, NM. The GSEM diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE); advises and trains lower-grade personnel on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems; inspects and approves completed maintenance actions; solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions; and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools. As a GSEM, you will maintain external fuel and grounding systems, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE and inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation. You will also service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air as well as diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. Our GSEM will also be responsible the following:
Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components
Removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories
Stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications
Stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations
Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment
Operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles.
Maintains vehicle records
Maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records
Provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations
Practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times The basic requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:
Diagnoses, repairs and maintains ground support equipment (GSE).
An active Class A CDL license is mandatory.
Advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repairs of less complex repair/maintenance problems.
Diagnoses all system components including electrical, electronics, and emissions related fault codes etc., in order to repair or replace faulty parts, as indicated by required testing or visual observations.
Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
Maintains external fuel and grounding systems
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE
Diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications
Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment.
Operates, cleans, inspects and services GSE towing vehicles.
Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within their scope of workWork Conditions: Conditions will vary as most work will be accomplished outdoors as there will be work on the range throughout the year so temperatures will vary.
Activities will include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting.
Must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds assisted by other employees.
Must be able to deploy both CONUS and OCONUS.
Shift hours will vary by mission requirements.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Requirements Education/Experience/Skills: High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years' experience repairing and maintaining one or a combination of the following: Ground Vehicles (track or wheeled) Power-generation equipment Rotary or fixed wing aircraft Industrial mechanical equipment (pumps, conveyors, lifts, etc.) Military experience with maintenance and/or mechanical background ( 91, 88, 3521 or other mechanical MOS would be best ).
Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
Experience working at a government facility helpful, but not required.
Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
Forklift Operator license required .
Class A license required .
U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
