We are seeking a Graphic Design Program Director to provide direction, resources, and oversight to help ensure that program objectives are met. The Program Director will work closely with the Chief Academic Officer to ensure that all curricula are cutting-edge and to identify new courses/programs that are needed based on industry standards. Other responsibilities include: Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to all aspects of the program, including curriculum, quality of work, program faculty, school climate, student engagement, and industry connections. Recruit, retain, and supervise talented design instructors. Assist the Chief Academic Officer in the strategic development of the curriculum. Participate in compliance initiatives, including Program Advisory Committee meetings, Annual Program Assessments, accreditation reports, and onsite evaluations. Ensure all activities are carried out within the rules and guidelines of The Modern. Oversee all technical courses to ensure content is aligned with current industry standards and drive innovative growth/strategic direction through curriculum updates to ensure courses stay relentlessly relevant. Collaborate with employers, organizations, and career services to bring real-world, experiential learning opportunities into the classroom. Identify student work for submission to design competitions and support students by lending awards ceremonies. Supervise all program faculty, assessing the talents of current instructors and guiding professional development in design accordingly. Ensure compliance with The Moderns Catalog, Student Handbook, and Policies and Procedures manual. Requirements for this position include: Minimum of a masters degree in graphic design or related field. Knowledge of developing online courses, including using online tools to enhance best practices. 4 years of experience in the design field. Current knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, which includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and relevant software. Expertise in applications that support online college teaching and curriculum design based on higher education standards. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student population in a distance education setting.
