GRANT ACCOUNTANT

What you'll do as a Grant Accountant:

  • Manage funding from federal, state, and private sources in accordance with grant agreements and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with administrative and fiscal requirements outlined in grant contracts
  • Analyze grant agreements to understand financial reporting requirements, budget restrictions, and compliance obligations
  • Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and projections to ensure funds are utilized appropriately
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and invoices for submission to grantors within specified deadlines
  • Collaborate with program managers to develop grant budgets, provide reporting, and resolve variances
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls and procedures for accounting for grants
  • Reconcile grant-related accounts in the general ledger and make necessary journal entry adjustments
  • Contribute to the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules and documentation
  • Assist with month-end close process, including journal entries, financial reporting, and general ledger account reconciliations

What you'll need to succeed as a Grant Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • Two years of prior experience with grant accounting
  • Experience with MIP Accounting system a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Applications
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Experience or willingness to work in cross-functional settings and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
