Overview of the Grant Accountant role:
- Collaborate with program directors on all the different grants that hit their department
- Determine reporting deadlines and get items submitted
- Track expenditures and understand what is allowed and what is not allowed
- Partner with program directors to identify opportunities where they could be getting more money for the funder
- Determine what they are not charging back or going for what they should ask for
- Allocate money from grants to programs
- Special grant accounting projects
Preferred Qualifications of the Grant Accountant:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of Grant Accounting experience
- Comfortable working in environment that supports people of marginalized communities
- Effectively communicate with team and vendors
- MS Excel: Intermediate
- Knowledge of Financial Edge software is a plus.
