We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Grant Accountant to join our Finance department. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting with a specific focus on federal grants and non-profit organizations. This role will play a crucial part in the financial management and sustainability of our organization by ensuring all grant-related financial activities are accurately recorded, reported, and audited. Responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of our grant accounting, from application to execution, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies.
2. Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports and statements for all grant-related activities.
3. Perform regular audits on all grant accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Maintain the General Ledger (GL) and ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
5. Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets for grant applications, monitor expenditure, and prepare financial reports.
6. Analyze and reconcile grant accounts regularly and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
7. Provide financial advice and guidance on grant-related matters to the management and other staff.
8. Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation related to grants and non-profit organizations.
9. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the grant accounting process.
10. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with a specific focus on grant accounting and non-profit organizations.
3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is highly desirable.
4. Profound knowledge of federal grants, non-profit accounting, and general ledger management.
5. Proven experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
6. Excellent knowledge of financial auditing practices and principles.
7. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
13. Knowledge of current financial legislation and regulations.
