Position Summary: The CX Data Science Intern plays a pivotal role in leveraging Statistical programming language (SAS preferred) to analyze and derive actionable insights from data. The primary purpose of this role is to provide the intern with hands-on experience in applying Statistical procedures for data exploration, hypothesis testing, and the development of predictive models. The intern will work closely with the CX Analytics team, contributing to the organization's analytical capabilities and aiding in the creation of robust predictive models that enhance decision-making processes. Major Responsibilities: Data Exploration: - Engage in comprehensive exploratory data analysis (EDA) to understand the characteristics, patterns, and distributions within the dataset using SAS. - Utilize SAS procedures to uncover key insights from raw data. Statistical Modeling: - Contribute to the development of statistical models, with strong understanding on techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, and other relevant methods. - Apply statistical methods to handle complex data structures and relationships. Model Evaluation and Interpretation: - Assist in the evaluation of model performance using statistical metrics and validation techniques. - Interpret model results and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative graduate program required - Currently pursuing a graduate degree in applied statistics, mathematics, business analytics, data science. - 1 year of good knowledge of statistical concepts using SAS experience - 1 year of Experience in building regression models in academic projects using SAS - Understanding and application of various machine learning algorithms for predictive modeling, including linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, and gradient boosting. - Good knowledge of SAS programming language - Strong written and verbal communication skills; good presentation skills - Good time management and organizational skills - Supervisory, coaching and teaching skills - Able to work independently and within a team. - Able to manage a cross-functional team toward a shared objective. - Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job - Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
