Anticipated Dates: Position Available Summer/Fall 2024 Job Description: Waynesburg University Department of Athletics is seeking a graduate student to assist staff and coaches with the day-to-day operations of the department. Position entails working 19 hours a week in the Athletic Department. The graduate assistant will report to the Athletic Director. Duties and responsibilities will include: Assist in the direction of assigned athletic teams Assist in the organization of practice sessions Must have an active Strength and Conditioning Certification (preferably CSCS through NSCA, a CSCCa, or a NCCA through NCSF) or be able to obtain one Work in accordance with all staff members of the Athletics Department and Waynesburg University Represent Waynesburg University Athletic Department in a positive manner Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the athletic program, as directed Assist in the preparation of game and practice sites Possess the ability to communicate the mission of the University and the goals of the Athletic Department to student athletes Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the University Comply with all rules affiliated with Waynesburg University, the Presidents Athletic Conference, and Division III of the NCAA As directed, serve as an academic mentor Provide support for current student leadership programs and initiatives, including FCA and activities held in conjunction with Student Services. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director Job Qualifications: All interested candidates will need to successfully enroll in a graduate program at Waynesburg University in order to be eligible for the assistantship. Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication and computer skills, familiarity with a variety of software such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Adobe Professional, Front Rush, Slate, etc; the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines; and availability to work evenings, Sundays and occasional weekends.
