Investment Banking Operations is seeking an experienced professional with strong communication, critical thinking, people management and analytical skills capable of collaborating with external and internal partners to support syndicated loans business. The role requires understanding of the loans market, servicing, trade and cash reconciliation. R isk management and control execution is essential when performing the role to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation.

OUR IMPACT

Investment Banking Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to facilitate banking & financing capabilities to clients around the globe. Team has multiple touchpoints from loan origination to trade booking, settlement, loan & letters of credit and servicing, it also involves interaction with Investment Grade & Leverage Finance Bankers, Credit risk, Legal, Loan Negotiation Group, Middle Office teams and to service facilities where Goldman Sachs is named Administrative Agent. The team performs important risk management and control-side functions by having an in-depth knowledge of industry standards & practices, reviewing & understanding application of credit agreement terms, and confirming requests are compliant with loan regulations. Timely and effective communication as well as high quality execution is essential to deliver excellent internal and external customer service. In addition, members of the team are expected to drive workflow changes and contribute to the global strategy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates understanding of industry and business standards and practices of syndicated loans
  • Continually adapt to changes in the business, markets and regulatory environment
  • Minimizes risk through understanding of policy and procedural requirements, this includes understand & adherence of regulatory aspect of syndicated and bilateral loans
  • Multiple team oversight with ownership of data provided for weekly, monthly, and quarterly regulatory reporting requirements including Federal Reserve Board (FRB), Bank Holding Company (BHC), and Shared National Credit (SNC) reports
  • Applies judgment when interpreting data, summarizing conclusions, and presents findings to senior MDs
  • Lead enhancements to existing and/ or creation of new workflow and system functionality, collaborates across divisions such as Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit etc
  • Collaborates with Global teams in New York, Dallas, London, Bengaluru and Asia on initiatives supporting the loans market
  • Participates in industry initiatives facilitated by the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) & Loan Market Association(LMA)
  • Managerial oversight of various teams that performs transactional processing which may include Borrower advances, invoicing, payment collection & distribution, and reconciliations
  • Engages with global senior stakeholders & management to represent team and handle escalations
  • Take on leadership role to represent teams on various platforms and during internal/external audits
  • Escalation point of contact for multiple teams and provides guidance to junior team members
  • Ability to develop and guide team members, has highly developed communication skills

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required with Syndicated Loans Experience of 12 years (minimum)
  • Excellent organizational skills, people skills, proven analytical skills, enhanced problem-solving ability, and a strong control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail
  • Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal clients with differing levels of product experience
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to gather stakeholder support for initiatives across the teams and see them through to execution
  • Ability to adapt to market changes and changing regulatory requirements in the banking & syndicate loans space
  • Staffing responsibility, organizational impact with direct reporting to senior management
  • Represent risk, goals, challenges & requirements with direct reporting to Managing Director

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with business intelligence tools
  • Understanding of Bank Loans
