About the Role: We are looking for a Global Accounts Payable Leader to become a key member of the Finance team and will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the Accounts Payable and Travel accounting managed services team, supporting W.L Gore. This role will be the "face" of the Managed Services AP team and must demonstrate a high degree of customer orientation to meet the needs of suppliers and internal stakeholders. The role will provide oversight and direction for the managed services provider and regional leaders. This role will also be a partner with the Indirect Procurement Global Operations Leader for the managed services.

This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Newark, Delaware, hybrid or fully remote work allowedin most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Owns the Accounts Payable relationship with the managed services vendor partner to deliver the contract deliverables
  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
  • Develops and monitors compliance with all financial and accounting policies, including Delegation of Authority (DoA) at all locations to ensure all payments are properly authorized
  • Manages monthly closing of AP and posting of month-end information and ensures the accuracy of financial statements including timely completion of Account Reconciliations
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the performance standards of the AP services provided by the managed services vendor
  • Build continuous improvement plans to minimize processing delays, increase on time, payments and increase controls against fraud
  • Establish and sustain process standards at the global, regional, and in-country levels, assuring processes are delivered consistently through managed services and the retained organization
  • Accountable to drive adoption to new systems and processes along with the detailed design and continuous improvement actions
  • Establish the Process and Policy inventory, linking Procure to Pay policies to the processes they support, identifying the "owners" of the processes and policies, and establishing accountability for the associated documentation
  • Establish and maintain the network of liaison resources to support the performance reporting and data collection across the participating regional teams, line of business, legal entity, and shared service organizations
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, master's degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in a fast-paced transactional environment with experience managing large spend $1B+ annually in multiple countries
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with executing through managed service partners with a track record of exceeding KPI's
  • Record of accomplishment of strategy development and consensus building with broad and diverse stakeholder groups at VP+ level
  • Strong people leader and cross-functional leader who can direct regional leaders and vendor partners on strategy and execution
  • Visionary who can build organizational plans to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex information at all leadership levels and across multiple functions
  • Ability to identify and project manage new initiatives
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed.
