Clearance Required: US Citizen & Public Trust Alpha Omega is seeking a highly skilled GIS Lead with a minimum of 10 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field to join our team. The GIS Lead will be responsible for monitoring technical tasks, providing leadership, and ensuring the successful execution of GIS projects. This role involves anticipating and mitigating problems, providing technical direction, resolving complex systems issues, and interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have expertise in GIS software and technology, backend database support, and experience administering and maintaining ArcGIS server, Harvester, Geoportal, and Geoportal-Server. Responsibilities: Monitor technical tasks and keep the Project Manager informed of all problems and accomplishments.
Anticipate problems and work to mitigate anticipated issues.
Provide technical direction for the complete systems development effort as a team or project leader.
Serve as a technical authority for a design area.
Resolve unique and unyielding systems problems using new technology as a staff specialist or consultant.
Complete tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints.
Schedule and assign duties to subordinates.
Interact with government management personnel.
Report in writing and orally to contractor management and government representatives, including the government contracting officer.
Administer and maintain ArcGIS server, Harvester, Geoportal, and Geoportal-Server by patching, upgrading, and ensuring the overall health of the systems.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in GIS.
Proficiency in GIS software and technology.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the GIS field.
Experience with backend database support.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to anticipate and mitigate problems effectively.
Experience interacting with government management personnel.
Ability to work within budget constraints and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in GIS or related field.
Certification in GIS technologies.
Experience working on government contracts.
Knowledge of emerging GIS trends and technologies.
