Geriatric Nursing Assistant

We are currently seeking compassionate and experienced Geriatric Nursing Assistants to join our team. As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant at NCG Associates, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to elderly patients in various healthcare settings.

Requirements

Valid certification as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice

High school diploma or equivalent

Prior experience as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant preferred

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and practices

Ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care to elderly patients

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical endurance and ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects

Flexible schedule and availability to work different shifts

Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

Responsibilities

Assist elderly patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating

Provide emotional support and companionship to elderly patients

Assist with mobility and range of motion exercises

Administer medication to patients based on physician orders

Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care

Document and maintain accurate records of patient care

Ensure a clean and safe environment for elderly patients

Follow infection control protocols and other healthcare facility policies and procedures

Length of Assignment: 10 weeks

Hours per Week: 37

Shift and Time: Morning 7:00am-3:30pm

Requirements: Every other weekend required

License Required: GNA License

Certificates Required: BLS

Housing Assistance: Provided
