Job Description:

A leading geotechnical engineering firm specializing in commercial development is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Project Manager. This firm is committed to delivering top-tier services in geotechnical investigation, engineering, and inspection for mid-sized private sector projects including warehouses, strip malls, restaurants, and big box retail developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate all aspects of geotechnical engineering projects, including field investigation, laboratory analyses, and construction phase inspection and consultation.

Evaluate and calculate geotechnical parameters, assess foundation types, and determine design parameters.

Lead the preparation of detailed technical reports and proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Engage in client interactions, proposal preparation, and regulatory negotiations, maintaining strong professional relationships.

Provide leadership and direction to the project team, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and deadlines.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in geotechnical engineering.

Proficient in managing mid-sized private sector development projects.

Excellent skills in technical writing, communication, and client interaction.

Demonstrated experience in staff management and development.

Proven track record in proposal preparation and project estimates.

Ability to travel occasionally to project sites for oversight.

Flexibility in work location, with potential opportunities in various geographic areas.

Additional Considerations for an Ideal Candidate:

Comes from a mid-sized company background.

Majority of experience in private sector development, excluding oil, gas, and offshore projects.

Comfortable in an office setting with occasional site visits.
