Summary, Primary Duties, Skills and Experience This position is responsible for educating, consulting and selling the most advanced diagnostic genetic testing services to pediatricians, pediatric specialists and other clinicians who see patients with rare disease. The Genomic Testing Consultant builds high-level relationships with clinicians and customers while providing superior customer service based on Bionano's business model, values and processes. The ideal candidate will be based in North Carolina or Virgina. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Travel to the assigned territory with direct contact with customers and potential customers in the medical community to sell the company's products and services (50%). Make outbound calls to customers and prospective customers in the medical community to build and maintain positive relationships and to sell the company's products and services (15%). Communicate to potential and existing customers through telephone, email, fax, face-to-face meetings and text messaging to educate on the benefits of genetic testing (15%). Research the given territory for physician leads and opportunities that will increase sales (10%). Keep Salesforce account and outreach activities current (5%). Other duties as assigned (5%). Required Skills and Abilities Excellent time management, scheduling, organization, and change management skills. Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel). Ability to learn and grasp new computer programs ( Salesforce) and internal procedures. Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member. Excellent verbal (in person and via telephone) and written communication skills. Knowledge of the genetics field preferred. Experience using Salesforce or other CRM software preferred Experience opening new territories and launching new products preferred. Education, Certifications, Licenses Education (Level and field of study) required/ preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Years relevant/ total work experience: 3 years of sales experience in biotech/pharmaceutical/healthcare industries calling on clinicians required. Proven results in achieving and exceeding monthly sales quota required. 5+ years of sales experience in biotech/pharmaceutical/healthcare preferred.
