Job Title: Genetic Counselor Assistant Cost Center: Mfld-Genetics Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Mon-Fri; day shifts (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Genetic Counselor Assistant provides day-to-day assistance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the operational functions of the area and to assist medical genetic staff with providing timely services and resources to the organization's patients. The individual will complete patient care support functions, assist with goal setting, and ensuring best practice. The Genetic Counselor Assistant may assist with referral dispositions to ensure provider referrals are handled appropriately. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a bachelor's degree focused in science or psychology, to include successful completion of biology coursework. Preferred/Optional: Successful completion of a genetics and or biochemistry coursework at a bachelor's degree level. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred/Optional: None CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.
