Duties You will serve as a Project Material Manager (PMM) for the department and will ensure all material required for the repair and alteration of ships are ordered, expedited, received, and inspected to support production schedules. You will provide material needs for other production work within the shipyard and ensure spare parts are repaired and returned expeditiously. You will coordinate, develop and support the execution of material, tools and consumable handling from job planning to job execution. You will develop and execute the planning and coordination of complex acquisition plans for the assigned projects. You will ensure all aspects of advanced material identification are timely, cost effective and consistent with authorized material management strategies. You will collaborate with various departments to determine critical path materials, long lead-time materials, discuss project progress, discuss material status, set project material priorities and resolve material challenges and barriers. Requirements Conditions of Employment MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and coordinating supply chain operations (e.g., material control, requirements forecasting, procurement scheduling, distribution, overhaul (RX/DX), disposal) to ensure material required for ship availability is ordered, expedited, and received to support production schedules; and analyzing supply department programs for efficiency and developing improvements. For the GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring supply chain operations (e.g., material control, requirements forecasting, procurement scheduling, distribution, overhaul (RX/DX), disposal) to ensure material required for the ship availability is ordered, expedited, and received to support production schedules; and analyzing supply department operations for efficiency and recommending improvements.
