Description Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Work Location: St. Inigoes, MD Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. We are currently looking to hire a General Maintenance Worker at our St. Inigoes, MD complex to support our engineering, testing, prototyping, repair and production facilities. The following job functions are basic requirements (but other duties may be assigned as well): Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors. Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Painting structures and equipment Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles. Hanging doors and installing door locks Replacing broken window panes. Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Work Conditions: Conditions will vary.
Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
Overtime is a requirement of this position.
Requirements Education/Experience/Skills: High school education or equivalent.
Formal trade school, college, or military training school highly desired.
Knowledge of common hand and power tools.
Minimum of three (3) years of facilities maintenance experience.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Solid organizational and communication skills.
Current Maryland Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required and you must already have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
