General Maintenance Worker

We are looking for a General Maintenance Worker. The General Maintenance Worker performs plumbing, general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but no proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.

Completes miscellaneous plumbing repairs.

Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.

Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.

Paints structures and equipment.

Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.

Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.

Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Communicates with customers regarding work request status and coordination.

Completes written Work Request notes reflecting details accomplished.

Ability to respond to emergency calls as needed, to include nights and weekends.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years' experience in facilities.

GED or High School Graduate

Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment.

General knowledge of plumbing fixtures and ability to comprehend blueprints and drawings.

Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen.
