The 3 Medical Acute Care unit is looking for a Professional Staff Nurse to add to their team. We are looking for a candidate who wants an opportunity to develop their nursing skills but is also dependable and a team-player. Additional education is encouraged. This role has a career ladder in place. UPMC Horizon, a full-service community hospital located in Greenville is currently hiring a Professional Staff Nurse to support our Medical Acute Care Unit. This unit fosters a small community feel while utilizing Telemedicine to bring some specialties to the area. Our Medical Acute Care unit maintains 15 beds but has the ability to increase to 30 beds. The Medical Acute Care unit here at UPMC Horizon is incredibly patient-oriented and provides nurses with the opportunity to improve their ability to work with both patients and their families. Our Professional Staff Nurses work a rotating schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the delivery care team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Professional Staff Nurse encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The Professional Staff Nurse establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession. Our Medical Acute Care Unit is a 15-bed unit that provides care for a variety of patients, including but not limited to: cellulitis, pancreatitis, CHF, and COPD patients.
