Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including preparation of financial statements, report preparation, and year-end tax returns, payroll, AR/AP, bank reconciliations, and GL coding. This role is critical in managing our company's financial information and requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of the legal industry and its financial needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in accordance with GAAP.

2. Prepare and manage all grant-related financial reporting and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

3. Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis.

4. Maintain the company's financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

5. Responsible for fixed asset management and record keeping.

6. Prepare and process sales tax returns and ensure compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.

7. Prepare accurate quarterly and year-end financial reports.

8. Manage QuickBooks Online and Desktop for the company, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

9. Responsible for accruals and prepayments, ensuring these are accurately recorded in the financial statements.

10. Collaborate with the external tax accountant for income tax preparation.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2. 5+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience in the legal industry.

3. Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations.

4. Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, and Microsoft Office Suite.

5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.

8. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

9. Experience with grant and sales tax accounting is a must.

10. Knowledge of accruals, fixed asset accounting, and ledger entries.
