Overview

American Fuels, LLC, a partner of H&K Group, Inc ., is currently seeking a Fuel Driver with a CDL B and Haz Mat Certification. The employee will drive tank truck to deliver gasoline, fuel oil, or lubricating oil to customers . This position places an emphasis on reliability and attentiveness, as maintaining both a truck log and the trucks themselves are daily responsibilities that come along with the position. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and a strong communicator.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Drives truck into position to load at filling rack
  • Opens valves or starts pumps to fill tank
  • Reads gauges or meters and records quantity loaded
  • Drives truck to customer's premises
  • Connects hose to tank and opens valves
  • Records amount delivered and issues ticket to customer
  • Attaches ground wire to truck
  • Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations and company policy
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
  • Loads and unloads truck
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
  • Performs daily pre and post trip of vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
  • Class A CDL with 1 year of commercial driving experience OR Class B CDL with 1 year of triaxle driving experience
  • Hazmat Certification
  • Manual transmission experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer Service and Teamwork
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 3 years of commercial driving experience
    • Strong preference for 3 years of triaxle driving experience
  • TWIC card
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Experience delivering commercial and residential fuel
  • MSHA, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to sit
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to vibration
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Noise level is usually loud
