Description

Summary/Objective:

The fuel truck driver is responsible for safely transporting fuel from pick up facility to Rhodes 101 convenience locations.

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for the loading of fuel tanker at bulk fuel facility

2. Responsible for refilling truck at the end of each day

3. Accurately records all mileage to ensure proper computation; maintains record of dispensed fuel and provides fuel accounting documentations.

4. Maintains accurate accounting of truck inventory.

5. Stays aware of and understands pertinent OSHA requirements

6. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operations.

7. Abide by all safety regulations including those set forth by our Homeland Security plan and Hazmat Emergency Response Procedures

8. Ability to work nights and weekends and 50-60 hours a week.

Work Environment:

The job consists of driving a fuel truck to and from stations loading and unloading fuel.

Physical Demands:

The Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position sedentary as the driver will be in the truck except for when loading and unloading fuel. Also required to pull and pick up fuel hoses (up to 75 pounds), required to walk, bend, reach, push and squat as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position type/Hours of work:

This position could work day and evening hours during the week and on the weekend depending on company needs.

Travel:

Regular delivery duties required.

Required Education and Experience:

3 years experience in truck driving

Class A CDL

Hazmat/Tanker certified

Additional Eligibility requirements:
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Fuel drivers have to operate a fuel truck, and might need to look for addresses at the same time.
  • Good Vision: Fuel drivers need to be able to see addresses on buildings, and good vision will be necessary if they are badly lit or small.
  • Must have a valid Class A drivers license, insurance and a great driving record.
