Healix Infusion Care is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to assist patients to work alongside our nursing and market teams in an Ambulatory Infusion Center setting in Brentwood, MO.

Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist

Location: Brentwood, MO

Responsibilities

Access referral/order information from community physicians via fax or email, contact patients to confirm location of services, and input patient and order data into our proprietary EHR.
Schedule patients at Infusion center based on treatment duration and clinical staff schedules.
Answer incoming calls, and relays patient request and questions to clinical staff, when necessary.
Calls patients prior to appointment date to confirm appointment and time; update insurance information.
Communicate patient financial responsibility to the patient and all applicable staff.
Scan and file patient consents and other information into patient records.
Assist with collection and posting of patient payments.
Communicate effectively with insurance companies, providers, pharmacies, and patients regarding insurance verification, benefit coverage, prior authorizations, and payor guidelines.
Verify patient eligibility and benefit coverage timely utilizing phone or online resources.
Ensures all pertinent medical documentation is accurate and present prior to authorization submission in timely matter via payer specific portals and vendors.
Follows up with pending authorizations on a regular basis to obtain the current status or to be informed of any action needed in order to obtain the authorization approval.
Communicates any authorization denials to the appropriate staff.
Ensure all necessary documentation, authorizations, and verifications are complete to ensure insurance billing can be completed effectively, prior to patient appointment.
Exhibit and manage excellent turn-around time in order to ensure timely scheduling of patients.

Requirements

2 years' experience: Ambulatory Infusion or Medical Office background preferred.
EHR or EMR background; Prior experience with medical verifications, prior authorizations, and reimbursements
Proficient in Microsoft office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Ability to multi-task and self manage priorities
Problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Excellent organizational skills
