Job Summary:
As a Process Engineer, your role revolves around crafting, implementing, overseeing, and refining efficient manufacturing procedures and workflows across various departments. You'll be a crucial part of the Foundry Team, providing metallurgical expertise and actively engaging in problem-solving endeavors within a collaborative setting. This position demands continuous improvement, where you'll delve into casting processes and equipment, devising control plans for critical variables while being proactive in addressing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion safety leadership on the shop floor, setting a visible example.
  • Cultivate mastery of essential processes, equipment, and inputs to develop comprehensive control plans.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive manufacturing excellence initiatives.
  • Lead improvement team meetings and execute Six Sigma projects targeting process and product variation reduction.
  • Train, coach, and inspire personnel in adopting new principles and techniques.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot process issues, focusing on systemic improvements.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis of Quality Complaints and devise preventive action plans.
  • Spearhead Lean Manufacturing initiatives to streamline value stream processes.


Requirements:

  • Preferably holds a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience working in a foundry environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving prowess in the metals manufacturing industry.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred; certification training available if needed.


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with business and management principles, engineering science, and design techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective time management, active listening, critical thinking, and personnel management abilities.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Expect standing, stooping, and lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work environment includes exposure to typical manufacturing settings requiring personal protective equipment.
  • Temperature variations may occur due to external factors and machining processes.
