Job Description Forming Operator Journeyman Card required Hourly Rate: $33.48 Schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts The Forming Operator operates the bottle forming machine, performs defect analysis and necessary adjustments, and assists with breakdown repairs and job changes. The Forming Operator will: Perform necessary doping and swabbing of mold equipment, adjust temperatures of mold equipment to the feeder, and assist in changing blanks and molds. Report any bad glass, bad machine conditions, or defective machine parts which cannot be corrected to crew leaders and supervisors. May be assigned responsibility for additional equipment, up to and including, the point at which the bottles enter the lehr. Gauge weight and selected physical dimensions on complete set-out and/or random sample and record using the computer terminal. Re-qualify all cavities following any major downtime. The Forming Operator should have: Previous experience with bottle tongs, hand tools, swabs, conveyors, ware gauges, computer terminal, and materials including molten glass, molds, oil, dope, gloves, and compressed air. Commitment to meeting quality standards, compliance with SOP's, and willing to learn SPC.
