YMS is a terminal tractor and equipment logistics solutions company that sells, services and rents terminal tractors and forklifts. We are looking for Experienced Forklift Mechanics for our Pearland (Houston) location as we continue to expand.
(ONLY MECHANICS - We are NOT looking for forklift operators.)
Job Duties
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all makes and models of forklifts at YMS shop and various customer locations.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on forklifts, and light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
- Remove, repair, and replace worn or broken parts as required to maintain or overhaul motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, steering devices, brakes and wheels, masts, lifts, hoists, and hydraulic systems, etc.
- Ability to repair and maintain gasoline, diesel, and LPG engines.
- Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop and service truck.
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on forklifts and other equipment.
- Maintain quality standards and accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned
Applicants should have knowledge of:
- Repair of brake systems, axles, brakes, electrical, electronics, component rebuild, hydraulics, transmission, drivelines, differentials, air conditioning, engines, and transmission repairs.
- Knowledgeable of a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics
- Able to perform routine maintenance and identify the cause of breakdowns and repair.
- Inspect and test and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
Required Skills
- Min. 2 years mechanic experience and a good work ethic
- Hold a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record to drive company service truck
- Should have own basic tools
- Basic computer skills
- Bilingual a plus

- Safe and legal operation of commercial motor vehicle.
- Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to operations.
- Professional representation of the company through uniform/professional attire and responsible driving.

- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
