Position Description: The Food Service Manager will be responsible for providing the management of church-wide and ministry specific food-related events at Christ Community Chapel (CCC) with an emphasis on a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere. This role involves educating and working alongside the food service team on proper food handling to ensure food safety for guests. This is a full-time position and reports to the Guest Experience Director.
Job Responsibilities:
- Under the vision and leadership of the Guest Experience Director, oversee church-wide and ministry specific food-related events at CCC as well as internal staff-wide events.
- Provide excellent customer service to our congregation and guests while maintaining a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
- Educate and work alongside volunteers and new staff on proper food handling to ensure food safety for guests.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and caterers.
- Manage inventories and order food and supplies as needed.
- Develop menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our congregation and our staff.
- Maintain kitchen equipment at Hudson main campus and at the Block.
- Under the leadership of the Guest Experience Director, manage usage of the Atrium café, including coffee on Sundays.
- Manage the Food Service staff team, which includes but not limited to, training, setting schedules, and fostering a positive and collaborate work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Guest Experience Director.
Qualifications:
- Be in a dynamic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in food service management, preferably in a church setting.
- Passion for hospitality and welcoming guests, members, and visitors.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are a must.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and safety measures within food service.
- Committed to the mission and vision of Christ Community Chapel.
