The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of six months of mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, buffing stripping waxing and burnishing floors. All offers of employment are subject to fulfillment of MD Anderson stated contingencies: Satisfactory results of Criminal and Personal Background Check; and Satisfactory result of a negative result for the Drug Screening detecting the presence of specific illegal drugs and compounds of tobacco. In response to the emergency federal vaccination requirements for health care facilities established by the CMS Interim Final Rule, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will comply and require all workforce members to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 no later than two weeks prior to your start date. Shifts: Monday-Friday & Weekends, 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday & Weekends, 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday & Weekends, 5pm-1:30am Monday-Friday & Weekends, 10:30pm-7am Key Functions Performs floor care duties as assigned such as cleaning, scrubbing, buffing, stripping, waxing & burnishing. Understands and chooses the correct chemical and mixture for the equipment being used and the floor and issue being addressed. Visually inspects areas as assigned to determine cleaning or other care required and any needed supplies, then follows up by performing the necessary cleaning and/or procedures, gathering and dispensing any needed supplies, or notifying the correct person to do so if appropriate. Must be able to operate and do basic maintenance on a variety of industrial level floor care equipment. Selects appropriate brushes, pads and charges equipment. Maintains equipment and/or supply room in an orderly manner that facilitates easy access to supplies and equipment and quick availability assessment of stocked supplies. Receives and verifies daily supply orders. Performs general housekeeping and janitorial duties up to 30% of the time. Performs trash tech duties as required. Performs BA I duties as required. Maintains hallways in a clear and safe manner at all times. Response to removal of hallway obstructions (standard: 15 minutes). Other duties as assigned. Considered ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL. Responds promptly to service and /or supply requests received from supervisory or office staff, or from hospital staff when appropriate, by either completing the task or relaying the information needed to complete the task to the correct person to do so.
