Seaside Health and Rehabilitation Center - Floor Technician

The Floor Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Director of Maintenance and to the entire facility by ensuring the cleanliness, safety and good working order of all equipment and facilities.

Floor Technician Responsibilities:

Ensure that all floor-based equipment and machinery are functioning optimally.

Clean and maintain different types of flooring materials such as carpet, hardwood, ceramic tiles, and cement.

Undertake polishing, waxing, and buffing tasks on floors.

Operate and maintain floor cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and sweepers.

Monitor inventory levels of cleaning products and supplies.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as they pertain to flooring.

Inspect and evaluate floor surfaces and determine the appropriate cleaning procedure.

Follow safety protocols to minimize accidents and damage to flooring, furniture, and equipment.

Apply cleaning solutions and disinfectants to remove all types of dirt, stains, and odors on floors.

Mix and dilute cleaning agents, and use cleaning tools effectively, ensuring that proper safety guidelines are followed.

Floor Technician Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial or janitorial cleaning is mandatory.

Basic knowledge of floor types and their relevant cleaning needs is essential.

Be able to communicate in English, and or Spanish

Ability to follow safety guidelines and use PPE when necessary.

Proficient in the use of cleaning, polishing, and scrubbing equipment, including floor care equipment such as burnishers, scrubbers, and vacuums.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
