Job Responsibilities

The Fleet Mechanic performs the following duties:


  • Maintains, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment that are essential to other work groups to ensure that they are safe, functional, and available when needed and in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Performing troubleshooting and diagnosing current or potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions
  • Temporary or permanent repairs and component rebuilding on trucks, construction, automotive and auxiliary equipment
  • Preventative maintenance

Current pay range: $35.26- $47.02/hr; subject to change based on union contract (starting rate will be based on experience level).

Minimum Experience Required
  • Applicant must have a minimum of two years experience as an automotive or truck mechanic within the past four years.
  • Applicant must have a valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving. Selected applicant must obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job.
  • Applicant must comply with D.O.T. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
