Position: Trader

Job Summary

Boston Trust Walden is seeking a qualified individual to join our investment team as a fixed-income and equity securities trader. This individual will be involved in a vibrant, cooperative setting that offers chances for personal contributions, teamwork, and career growth. We do not engage in any proprietary trading using the firm's capital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with portfolio managers to implement and execute investment decisions across fixed income, US and International equity, and balanced portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Compliance teams to address and remediate all trading-related issues as they arise on a timely basis.
  • Implement best practices in terms of process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Monitor market conditions, analyze liquidity, and make timely decisions to optimize trade execution.
  • Provide market insights to other members of the Investment Committee, including research analysts, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain counterparty relationships with trading partners, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Evaluate and implement value-added trading platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.
  • Four years of professional trading or Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) office experience.
  • Familiarity and experience with fixed-income securities, including US Treasury, Agency bonds, Corporates, and Municipal bonds, as well as equity securities from small cap to large cap.
  • A comprehensive grasp of electronic order routing, trade life cycle from entry to settlement, and order management/execution management platforms.
  • Ability to balance cash levels in portfolios and contribute to the overall investment strategy.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with proficient mathematical abilities and acute attention to detail are essential.
  • Proficiency in utilizing systems such as SS&C Advent APX & Moxy, Bloomberg, FIX, fixed-income platforms, and trade cost analysis tools.

This is a full-time position based in Boston, MA. Boston Trust Walden operates in a hybrid manner with a mix of in-office and remote work. Specifics are dependent upon the team and should be discussed with the hiring manager.
