•Certified Small Business with room for growth Job Description : We are seeking a Firewall Administrator to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head (NSWC IHD), a Department of Defense entity responsible for providing IT services and products to Command personnel and the EOD community. Software application development, electronic publication distribution, incident reporting, technical support services and supplying unclassified and classifieds networks for research, development and testing are just a few of the ways the Information Technology Division and ISB support NSWC IHD and the EOD warfighter. Daily Responsibilities :
•Responsible for the duties of identification via analysis of alternatives, specification, software and hardware installation, configuration troubleshooting, and forensic analysis of firewall devices.
•Installation and configuration of Firewall/IDPS/WIDS hardware to also include troubleshooting and resolution of issue encountered.
•Provide access to resources on the SIPRNET through judicious port restriction and allocation.
•Establish and maintain Access Control List (ACLs) for specific port usage in accordance with DISA and NCDOC regulations.
•Ensure compliance with DoD and/or DoN and/or existing local firewall-security policy.
•Advise the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) of Firewall/IDPS/WIDS firewall security issue and/or unusual activity and recommend course of action.
•Implement corrective actions as authorized on unusual activities and recommended course of action.
•Monitor network traffic and provide trend reporting relating to threats, current policy and possible intrusion events.
•Review Firewall/IDPS/WIDS logs continuously throughout the work day for unusual or suspicious activity.
•Reports for non-standard activity.
•Maintain DNS Black Hole list ensuring weekly updates issued by NCDOC are performed on local DNS caching servers.
•Create Configuration Control Board request when necessary.
•Establish new Firewall rules while ensuring they are in accordance with current IASE Port, Protocols, and Service Management Category Assurance list or other DoN guidance.
•Ensure compliance with DoD, DoN, or local Firewall/IDPS/WIDS security policies.
•Apply Firewall/IDPS/WIDS software upgrades, security patches and vulnerability database updates as they become available.
•Manage network devices (Firewall/IDPS/WIDS) in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Provide STIG validation documentation.
•Perform daily configuration and event/audit log backups. Backups should also be performed prior to system changes and/or updates. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
•Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or an equivalent technical degree from an accredited college or university.
•Three (3) to Five (5) years professional experience in Firewall installation/configuration, to include tasks such as corrective actions, threat reporting, troubleshooting, forensic analysis, and reporting. Required Certification
•CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP Security Clearance :
