GS-0081-07 Step 3 $58,556 Duties You will perform structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities. You will perform airfield firefighting by involving air traffic or support operations where hazardous conditions are. You will operate a variety of firefighting equipment. You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis. You will initiate established medical protocols in providing basic life support. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. You will be required to wear a uniform and use all safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and will fall under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth. You will be required to be certified and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid. Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2)Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. For the GS-07 the incumbent must possess the following certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, (Airport Firefighter for Naval Air Station Whidbey Island), Hazmat Technician; these certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement, and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. You MUST submit a copy of all certifications with your application. For the GS-06 the incumbent must possess the following certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, (Airport Firefighter for Naval Air Station Whidbey Island), Hazmat Operations; these certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Additional information This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This position is 72 hours per week and salary will increase accordingly.

GS-0081-07 Step 3 $58,556 If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
