About this Position:
The R&D Financial Analyst - Business Efficiency role engages Resource Strategy ORG, Development Team leadership, Research ORG and Management to reflect business efficiency plans into direct and indirect budget forecasts for auto R&D.


Responsibilities include:

• Business Efficiency Promotion: Establish process & schedule to clarify the required business efficiency objectives. Engage Resource Strategy ORG, Development Team leadership, Research ORG and Management to execute the process to establish a highly efficient budget forecast and promote process PDCA.

• Budget deliverables quality control: review and give feedback to team to improve quality of the deliverables before proposing to R&D budget owner. Act as backup to R&D budget owner. Prepare reports to be delivered to leadership containing analysis and proposals that meet business requirements.

• Model Window. Engage Development Planning ORG and Development Project Managers to clarify model contents. Establish the long-term, resource plan for Development projects. Engage Project Manager to align long-term plan with development project resource plan. Support Project Manager for annual budget management, plan vs actual gap analysis and reflect to overall R&D budget.

• Division Support. Provide necessary info/process/tools/support to management to strengthen budget/workload management & cost PDCA. Support management to manage their budget-cost information well. Improve budget/workload & cost reporting to support management decision making. Monitor status of management deliverables and raise concerns to Process Owner or management.

• Information management: Manage resource information in company systems and ad-hoc tools. Analyze plan vs actual on a regular basis. Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed. Prepare reports to be delivered to Execs. Identify gaps reasons and engage management on gap PDCA. Effectively generate ideas and support building tools in order to automate analysis processes.


Who we are seeking:


Required Experience: 3+ years of related work experience with a bachelor's degree in related field. 7+ years of related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree or combination of same.
Required Education: Four-year degree in Business, Math, Science related area


Other job-specific skills:

• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software (ex: PowerPoint, Excel)

• Experience creating & managing databases (ex: SharePoint)

• Knowledge/understanding of development process and project cycles

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation & relationship-building skills

• Advanced decision-making, judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills

• Good project management and process improvement skills

• Good negotiation, diplomacy and conflict resolution skills


Additional Position Factors:

• Travel: Average of 3 times per year or more depending on project demands/responsibilities; includes possible overseas/international travel.

• Physical: Primarily works at a desk; frequent keyboarding.

• Hazards: Risks found in a typical office setting. May be exposed to hazards during supplier visits.

• Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
