Duties Serves as a Financial Management Trainer for a highly mobile Operational Support Team (OST) which prepares and trains Financial Management (FM) units in all components of the Army. Provides realistic technical training for Accounting, Commercial Vendor Services, Pay Support, Electronic Commerce, Financial Management Operations, Internal Control, Disbursing, and Instructor Led Training. Develops financial management systems training. Executes financial management training events and technical readiness validation exercises for Financial Management units across all components of the Army. Provides input and advise on: infusion of training new technology and systems; support of systems training and exercises in support of contingency operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen. This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination. Suitable for Federal employment. Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service. Qualifications Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements. Substitution of combination of education and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally satisfy the DHA qualification requirement. Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility if outside the Federal service. For the GS-12: Specialized experience is maintaining multiple Financial Management systems and developing and executing financial management training; such as disbursing, e-commerce and military pay. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. USAFMCOM has delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense to directly appoint qualified candidates possessing a finance, accounting, management, or actuarial science degree, or a related degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study, or equivalent experience, related to the functions of the position to be filled.
