Finance Manager

CFS is partnering with a local non-profit to help find their next Finance Manager who is responsible for overseeing all financial functions, and financial compliance. The Finance Manager works closely with the CEO to ensure the efficient and effective operation of financial services across the agency.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining all agency financial systems and accounts (A/P and A/R)
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, as well as other financial reports as requested by funding sources, Board and CEO
  • Assists CEO in developing the annual budget.
  • Provides information for the annual audit.
  • Responsible for all financial compliance, including e.g. annual review of state required Cost Allocation Plan.
  • Maintains supporting schedules for financial compliance.
  • Assists auditors in preparation of State and Federal tax returns (including 1099 forms)
  • Oversees all payroll and personnel functions including employee benefits.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll
  • Responsible for coordination of donor database and accounting program, including maintenance of database tables required for interface between database and accounting software.
  • Responsible for all financial support for government contracts.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Serves as liaison to insurance carriers, benefit providers, etc.

Development Responsibilities

  • Develops necessary budgets for grant application.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Serve on agency committees as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the CEO

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in business, accounting or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in administration and supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in nonprofit fund accounting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing computerized systems.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with diverse individuals and organizations.
  • Ability to be flexible and to juggle multiple demands.
  • Reporting to: CEO
